I'm going to cover something I've experienced my whole life:

Blinds are not all that different. Instead of talking about style and visual presence, I am going to FIRST ask you about your personality, and how you currently habitate in your choice of world space.

Honest answers to these simple questions may not guarantee an escape from buyer remorse, but chances will be better that you will be considering your habits and personality more carefully before buying those fancy roman shades that accumulate dust and have to be constantly opened and closed.

Yes they are elaborate and expensive, but I can offer some cellular and sheer shades that also have fantastic designs, but require less cleaning, and don't need to be constantly opened and closed every morning and evening.

Maybe those roman shades could fill a comfy role in a bedroom, while basswood blinds better fill a home office structure?

Graber roller shades still offer elaborate designs, but can remain the least expensive motorized choice. Program them with a Z-Wave timer and you won't have to open or close them ever again!

Motorization can get complicated. Some consumers are obsessed with technology, and if you are one of them, we have the bluetooth phone enabled connections (blue tip antenna), that can be transferred to a gateway and talk to your favorite bot, like Alexa. Graber supports multiple state of the art connections where other manufacturers do not. If all you want is for the shades to go up and down, there are less expensive ways to achieve your features without investing in options you may never need.


The Graber battery pack is detachable, and behind the shade. What that means for you is when the battery eventually fails in about ten years, it will be a simple and inexpensive matter to replace it. Some cheaper systems put the battery inside the motor tube. Sometimes, its not even possible to replace the battery separately. There are clever ways to fabricate a solution, but its not recommended.


Window treatment options have improved dramatically over the last twenty years. Once considered a luxury, motorization is somewhat less expensive and can make an exotic looking blackout or roman shade more practical with rechargeable power or a set it and forget it solar panel.

	Privacy doesn't have to be sacrificed, just to have some light entering a room.
		There are four basic options:
		Sheer: All of the light without privacy
		Light Filtering: Most of the light without privacy
		Room Darkening: Privacy with some light
		Blackout: No light at all

 

	Window treatments are either installed inside a window, or completely outside the window.
		Inside Mount:
		Cleaner looking and takes up less space, but can sometimes have a small light gap to solve. Careful consideration regarding depth and valance position will avoid later disappointment. Sometimes a generally thinner product will look cleaner inside a window with less depth. Some products cannot be installed in some windows.
		Outside Mount:
		Will never have a light gap and allows for a larger and more exotic valance. All product selections can be installed.

Once we've narrowed your prefences down from the thirteen different product lines, its time to take a look in the van and actually see the product. Not a picture, not a video: the actual hand sample.
