       Longevity:
         
      Graber blinds are subjected to 4000 (four thousand) lift tests. This ensures that the cord or the mechanism will last a really long time. Anodized Metal and brass replace commonly provided cheap plastic parts, from the other manufacturers.

    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has determined preliminarily that custom window coverings with accessible operating cords that are longer than 8 inches pose an unreasonable risk of strangulation to children 8 years old and younger. The new legislation will not eliminate cords, but it will shorten them.

    Many companies, including Graber have promotions right now offering the cordless option for free, and are discontinuing cords altogether.

    The problem with cordless is that it can be poorly made, and the alternative, corded blind frankly has a cheap, reliable, and often even aluminum mechanism. I have installed corded blinds that have not frayed for over twenty years.

    Consider who will reside in your space. A corded blind can easily be repaired, and might last far longer than a cheap cordless blind. It still has to be short, and tied against your wall to be considered safe.
